E-RYT® 200, RPYT®, YACEP®, Birth Doula, Reiki Master, Self Regulation therapist

My name is Nina and I come from Saskatoon, the Paris of the Prairies. My yoga journey began as a young child, introduced to asana, pranayama and meditation by my mother. She shared this beautiful gift with me throughout my childhood. It wasn’t until the pregnancy and birth of my first born that my passion for yoga really ignited. It was through yoga that I was able to tap into my deep inner knowing and had the most beautiful and empowering birth. As I brought her earth-side, in the peaks of labour, I transcended into pure awareness – Samadhi. From that moment forward, I knew I had to share this gift with others and enrolled in my yoga teacher and prenatal yoga teacher training program.

I established my business, Freedom From Within, in 2012. My Business name is based on the belief that we are our own greatest teachers and that all the answers we seek are already within us. For the first few years, I worked primarily with woman and children. In that time, I taught hundreds of prenatal and kids yoga classes and served over seventy families as a birth educator and birth doula. This work was deeply sacred to me and allowed the opportunity to share yoga with others into the most important moments in their lives.

In 2015, while continuing to teach and study yoga, I became intrigued with the subtle body and the healing arts. After witnessing and holding space for so many women to tap into this deep knowing and inner strength during childbirth, I felt the calling to Reiki and to learn how to channel and direct this pranic energy. Over the course of three years, I have completed two Reiki Master Programs and have the honour to work with hundreds of clients in my clinic. During this time, I also advanced my studies in yoga and took part in a 100 hour Vinyasakrama Yoga Teacher Training (Ramaswami), 50 hour Yin Yoga Teacher training (Vincent Lu), 30 Hour Prana Flow Yoga Teacher Training (Adri Kyser) and 30 hour Lila Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher training program (Clara Robert-Oss).

In 2016, my work evolved once again and I took up training in Self Regulation Therapy, a neuro-biology based therapy that aims to reduce access activation in the nervous system that emphasizes a mind-body connection. Studying the mind and nervous system was the last piece needed to create a truly holistic healing experience.

As a Registered Yoga Teacher, Self Regulation Therapist and Reiki Master, I combine these modalities to create a powerful and unique healing experience. My work involves holding space to help empower my clients and students to deepen their mind-body-spirit connection and tap into their innate wisdom and inner gifts.

Over the past seven years, I have taught over 1800 hours of yoga classes and workshops throughout the community of Saskatoon and Saskatchewan. I primarily teach Flow, Yin and Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga all of which include teachings on the three bodies doctrine (gross, causal, subtle) and the lunar and solar energies held within and around us. In my flow classes you can expect a dynamic and fluid practices that includes components of pranayama, movement meditation, mantra and mudras. In my Yin classes, you can expect to be taken on a journey to the subconscious, quiet and subtle aspects within. During my yoga career I have taught at yoga studios, gyms and private in home classes in addition to workshops at Ness Creek Music Festival (2014-2019), Yoga At the Ridge (2015 & 2016) and Sask Soul Fest (2019) as well as been apart of two 200 hour teacher training programs (Karma Yoga & Ground Yoga, 2016 & 2017). I have also had the honour of being a Victoria Yoga Ambassador for the past three years.”
